Babushka means grandmother in Russian, Ukrainian and she is an old woman who gives toys to children on 12th night or 6th January. She can be found in several Eastern European countries and is linked to the story of the wise man. Click on the image to find out more about her story.
Los Reyes Magos
According to Christian tradition, three wise men came to visit the newborn baby Jesus shortly after his birth. Their names were Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar, and they came with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. These three wise men also give gifts to people on 6 January.
